God Is Moving In Politics - Part 1
by Reeni Mederos
It's really sad to see that we as Christians can't have a good conversation about politics without all the hateful attitudes behind the comments. It would be nice to have a good conversation without all the hostility for once. Is that possible? I knew this election was going to be the most interesting ever. I still think the process of what we have is pretty incredible.
I am watching the dynamics of our nation right before my eyes. We are exercising freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right to vote, etc. I don't always agree with everything and I am a defender of the truth, but in the midst of this chaos, I can't help but see some great things God is doing. I see the dynamic of a people and an nation who love their country, as imperfect as it may be. America has so many hangups yet we all love this country so much. We love our freedoms, we love our way of life and there are many people who fought and died before us that gave us these rights and privileges. These are the things that can be taken away from us and America just may be an endangered species.
I believe the Church has cried out to God to change and shift our nation and I honestly believe He is answering that prayer, but not in the way that you might think. I don't want to be so caught up in the chaos that I can't hear what God is saying and I don't want to miss His way. I am willing to discuss whatever is needed but I won't be disrespected and I hope to God not to disrespect you either, but I will speak the truth in love when I need to.
I also may not say much at all. Not because I don't have anything to say but because there are those that will waste my time in conversations to suck me into their judgments. I may not like not some of our current or potential leaders, but I don't hate them. I pray for them all. I am kind of taking a back seat and just watching and absorbing everything and the chaos is part of the process. Actually it's an exciting one.
I see people who are now involved that were so bored and disgusted to be involved before. God is awakening America. Even with all the chaos that is going on, He is awakening us. It's just what I see. It may not be the popular way but I do see a lot of good in this whole process. What I feel in my spirit is anticipation. Anticipation of something great that God is about to do. I want to be diligent in prayer so that I don't miss that move. If anything, I want to be right in the middle of it.
I think it's important to sometimes pull back and take a panoramic view of things and that is my stance right now. I'm looking at the overall picture and the future head. My spiritual lenses are taking pictures from afar. Every now and again I zoom in to the details that need to be seen. But just to keep a balance of everything, pulling back to that panoramic view helps me to know what specifically to zero in on and eliminate the waste. I don't have time to waste.
I see a lot of hope for America. I see God really does love this nation. Some may curse it and say we are doomed. As much as I see evil things going on, all the more I need to be a prophetic voice that speaks life into our nation and what God is saying even if some disagree.
Our decrees from the throne or our shortsighted negativity does have an impact. I prefer to see the diamond in the rough and call those things that are not as thought they already were. I am hopeful that God knows what He's doing even though I don't know everything. I don't think God is having a heart attack and is in distress. I believe He's watching and moving according to our prayers and prayers that are genuine, not amiss.
If there was ever a time to seek the courts of heaven on behalf on this nation, the time is now. I assure you God has a verdict. The enemy would love to destroy this nation. But God has other plans. He is just looking for people to pray and to stand in the gap for His will, not ours. Things may not go your way, I assure you, it will most certainly go God's way. I think it's a great opportunity to have a heart check. I'm certainly first in line. But God didn't call me to say things to please man. God called me to say things things that please Him.
Bottom line is that I see a whole lotta good in America and I also see that she still needs much prayer. I can say I'm proud to be an American even though this country is imperfect. The harvest is great and we have an incredible opportunity to be a voice. But you can't be a voice if you are negative and judgmental which is not the same as speaking the truth in love. When God speaks, His words never return void.
I may express what I see. Notice I didn't say opinions. I will say what I see and you can agree or disagree. I'm not looking for brownie points. My approval comes from God, not man. Because I am not in bondage to the fear of man, I am free to say what I need to say. If religion has taught me anything, it has taught me how not to be. Sometimes I might make a mistake just like you might, but one thing God has taught me is to not be afraid to make mistakes. I hope to own up to my mistakes if and when I do make them. But one thing for sure is that I will be free to speak up when I need to and I will be free to pull back and take the panoramic view as a matter of my choice as I am lead by the Spirit of God.
I am just not one to be a voiceless Christian. I never have been. Some people say not to mix religion and politics. Somehow I don't agree with that. We have to talk about our nation, it's condition and who we feel is the best person to lead this nation. We are all going to disagree at times. God gave me a mouth and I am willing to use it for His glory. I never said I would be perfect and I'll do my best to say what I see God doing. We are all looking through a dim class trying to get clarity of it all. But the best way I know how to get the best clarity of what God is saying and doing is to pray, pray, pray. Pray that I get out of the way and just say what God has to say.
In conclusion, I love you with the love of the Lord and let’s have some healthy dialog honoring one another even though we may disagree. When it’s all said and done, let God's will be done!
